Why choose the General Motors (GM) Automotive Service Educational Program (ASEP) at
San Jac.
With the General Motors ASEP program, you will get to alternate between the classroom
and either a local GM dealership or ACDelco Professional Service Center. Dealerships
include Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, and Cadillac. When you complete the two-year program,
you'll be ready to launch a rewarding career. You'll have your two-year associate
degree and you will have earned 80-100% of the GM training required to become a GM
certified technician.
With this program, you'll:
Learn the latest technology with GM vehicles
Train on parts of vehicles before moving up to actual customer vehicles
Participate in paid internships and/or apprenticeships
Leave ready to pass your Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) exams and work in a GM dealership
General Motors Automotive Service Educational (ASEP) Program, AAS
Career/Technical
The Associate of Applied Science degree prepares you for an entry-level career. GM ASEP trains students in the core automotive skills for GM vehicles and prepares students for the Automotive Service Excellence exam.
2 Years
If you're studying full-time, you can complete the 60 credits for this certificate in five terms. A summer term between the first and second year is part of this program.
General Motors Automotive Service Educational (ASEP) Program, Certificate of Technology
Certificate
The Certificate of Technology prepares you for an entry-level career or to continue with a Level 2 Certificate or AAS degree. GM ASEP trains students in the core automotive skills for GM vehicles and prepares students for the Automotive Service Excellence exam.
1 Year
If you're studying full time, you can complete the 25 credits required for this certificate in three terms. A summer term after the first year is part of this program.
General Motors Automotive Service Educational (ASEP) Program, Level 2 Certificate
Certificate
The Level 2 Certificate prepares you for an entry-level career or for continuing with your AAS degree. GM ASEP trains students in the core automotive skills for GM vehicles and prepares students for the Automotive Service Excellence exam.
1.5 Years
If you’re studying full-time, you can complete the 45 credits for this program in five terms. A summer term between the first and second year is part of this program.

Once you complete this program, you'll be ready to not only take and pass the Automotive
Service Excellence (ASE) exams, but you'll also have the unique skills and certifications
